Place2Be - #WMHD17

We wanted to share with you a little bit more about the reasons why Scamp has chosen to support the children’s mental health charity Place2Be. By donating 10% of our sweatshirt sales to them we hope to help them continue in the great work they do. #scampfeelgooddogood

Place2Be is a national charity supporting schools to improve the confidence and wellbeing of children and young people. They provide emotional and therapeutic support to pupils, families and staff in more than 250 schools nationwide - including Jennifer’s son’s primary school in London.

Their vision is a world where children have the opportunity to grow up with prospects rather than problems and their ambition is for all schools to be 'Mentally Healthy' and provide excellent mental health support for all their pupils.

The charity provides assistance to children who are struggling at school or home for a variety of reasons. They can deliver one to one counselling or work with whole classes on particular issues such as friendship, self-esteem, concentration, confidence and bullying. They have a Place2Talk where children can go at lunchtime and have a quiet place to talk and play. The beauty of Place2Be is that it is open to all. It has a permanent residence in the school and all children can self-refer.

With five mini Scamps between us we are all too aware of the pressures of the outside world on our kids and the affect this can have on their emotional well being. As with all our products, our range of kids sweatshirts was inspired by our own children. We want them to feel empowered and have self belief. It’s so important for them to be comfortable in their own skin and we created the Here Come the Kids sweatshirts with all of the positive messages to remind them to feel mighty and strong!

Place2Be is a really amazing model that we wish every school in the country had the opportunity to adopt and we are so happy to be able to support them do their great work.
