Mother’s Day is such a special day for many people across the country. Mums are amazing beings, so it’s only right they get a whole day dedicated to themselves for once! Obviously, we should appreciate our mums every day, but it’s always nice to spoil and treat them a little bit. Mother’s Day has also fallen at a perfect time this year, being only a few days after International Women’s Day and right in the middle of Women’s History Month. It seems only right that our brilliant mums should be honoured alongside some of the greatest women in history!

mothers day gift

Here at Scamp we’ve been super busy putting together all our orders for the day, so some of you lucky mums and grandma’s out there might be receiving one of our gifts! Just some of the beautiful gifts we’ve been sending out include our handmade wooden flowers, our ‘no ordinary mum’ sweatshirts, and our wooden pennant flags and wall art. It’s always lovely to do something a bit more personal for mums on this day, so our personalised gifts are perfect for showing how much our mums are loved and appreciated!

mothers day no ordinary mum

This year, Scamp ran a competition asking our readers to describe a #mightyinspirational woman in their own lives in three words. Mums, sisters, grandparents, and friends were some of the many women who had a mention from someone who they’d inspired in their life. Just some of the descriptions sent in were: strong, persuasive, beautiful, focused, constant, generous, determined, thoughtful, loving, amazing, courageous, sassy, supportive, and ‘my best friend’. We thought these words are the epitome of what it means to be a woman, and especially what it means to be a mum. These descriptions show exactly why mum’s need a whole day to be celebrated! Also, we’d like to say a huge congratulations to Naomi Cherelle for winning the competition; we hope you love your new matching sweatshirts!

So, whether this is your first Mother’s Day or your 50th, we hope all you mums out there have a beautiful day celebrating all things mum and family.
