Well don't these school holidays come around fast. It doesn't seem too long ago since we were all wrapped up in hats and scarves and going out to the park in the February half term. At least we have managed to lose a layer or two since then!!
We thought here at the Scamp Studios that you might fancy a nice and easy Easter crafting activity to keep your kids occupied for an hour in the holidays. As you know we love mobiles so we've come up with a very bright and cheerful one you can make from paper and Washi tape - that's it - oh and a pair of scissors and maybe a nice twig or branch to finish it off. We made these to hang up for Easter day but you could just as easily change the shapes of the cut out card (maybe a heart, some stars or clouds?) if you didn't want to use the egg shape that we have used.
Step 1 - fold your card in half and then draw an egg shaped outline as below and cut out.
Step 2 - start to apply washi tape on the egg until you reach the very bottom. This can be done anyway your little one likes
Step 3 - carefully cut round the egg cutting the excess washi tape off. Pierce a hole in the top of your egg and string through some ribbon.
Step 4 - Repeat three times and string the finished eggs at different lengths so they catch your eye when all hung up together. We put ours onto a branch to give the mobile an au naturale Spring like feel but you could easily just pop them onto the window to give you a cheery welcome when you come in to the room.
If you do try this out let us know - we would love to see your creative results on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/scampbabygifts
