Before I had the kids I spent lots of my weekends (well, particularly Sundays) mooching. I mooched all over London exploring as much of the city as I could - sometimes with Mr P but quite often on my own. One of my favourite mooching joints is the East End - particularly Columbia Road flower market (despite it's mental busyness), Brick Lane and surrounding streets. It's not quite as easy with the kids mainly due to 'are we nearly at the park?' questions being thrown at me just as we arrive but I managed a good hour of me and the kids mooching this weekend. They loved the flowers (particularly the peonies which were beautifully stacked up high on a few of the stalls) and tolerated my meander down Brick Lane knowing that some kind of lunch treat was in order by the time we got to the end of it. I'll get there ... I will convert them to the joys of mooching soon enough!
