More cousinliness and more zoo 49/366 Picture a Day 2012

[caption id="attachment_1341" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Penguin Pool"][/caption]

this photo was taken on the 3rd visit (this week) to the zoo with the Leeds cousins and fellow Scampettes.  I absolutely love the Penguin Pool at the zoo - it's Grade I listed so a rather special place - not sure if the penguins ever thought that though.

I take no credit for writing the next paragraph - straight from the ZSL website ...

"The Penguin Pool is perhaps the most famous building in the Zoo. Like the Round House, it was designed by the influential Tecton architectural firm, led by Russian emigre Berthold Lubetkin. Tecton's brand of Modernist style was unusually elegant and playful and is a reminder of how innovative the style must have looked when it first appeared"
