Down on the Southbank over the bank holiday weekend not any old Village Fair was happening ... the Alternative Village Fete took place in a transformed space just just outside the National Theatre full of making, doing, jiving, swing dancing, make believe and theatrical performances.

From Damsel Dusty's Brain Storm in a Teacup - write or draw what your idea of home is on a dream cloud to hang up in her boudoir to building your own den courtesy of some architecture students and Garudo Studiages Lucky Skip - a lucky dip of some tat and some not so tat for £1.  A very happy 3 year old got some bubbles, a very unhappy 5 year old a patterned waistcoat!  As ever, these London events have a heap of fun for kids and still plenty to amuse adults as well.
