A very fun place to take the kids in Yorkshire in the summer is Newby Hall . We have discovered it a little late as the summer is almost over and it actually shuts at the end of September but put it in your diary for a visit next year. There is a stately home to view which I must confess doesn't particularly interest me but also 25 acres of award -winning gardens which are beautiful.

Of course, we spend most of our time at Newby’s exciting Adventure Garden for Children which has been safely designed for children of all ages – from the interactive waterplay area, sandpit and swings for toddlers through to climbing frames and bridges, an aerial slide and pedalo boats for the older children. And of course, Newby’s famous Miniature Railway is for children and adults alike!
