Golders Hill Park

I always like exploring new parts of London and when Ava spent a week at a 'summer camp' at the start of August (the really rather good Highland Games in King Alfred's School) it gave me the perfect opportunity to have a nosy around this part of London.  The last day of camp was a beauty so we spotted Golders Hill Park nearby and the all important Cafe sign.  Exploring began post a very tasty icecream and we found lots to do.

A vast park with an (small but perfectly formed) zoo where we spotted deers, lots of birds, lemurs and a few donkeys!

With the zoo, pond and wild flowers, a great park for kids (couldn't get them away from the giant sandpit), cafe and lots of grass to play on summer days up here are on the plan.  Add to that relatively easy parking (not something you hear much in London) and top afternoon out.
