A trip to Scotland for one of my favourite couples wedding took me and the Scamp from the Southers back up to Edinburgh.  I studied and lived in Edinburgh for four years in the 90's and have incredibly fond memories of my time in the city (some might say rose tinted glasses!).  Despite shockingly bad (but typically Scottish!) weather pretty much all weekend we managed to find a window of rainlessness (is there such a word?) to get out and explore Princess Street Gardens with the kids before the wedding began.  The exploration showed the kids an amazing view of the castle from below but more importantly (for them) there was a new castle themed play park which proved much more exciting than the real thing.
