An exciting time for the family as another new baby was born (this time my youngest sister) - taking the tally of children on my side of the family to six, with a seventh due at the end of September.  Maeve Emelia arrived very speedily a week ago.  In honour of Maeve's arrival Ava wanted to make her something.  Without prompt she decided on an elephant mobile.  Proudly showing me her struts made out of some spangly card.  I cut out a template for the elephants which she then used

After cutting hole punching a stringing the elephants onto the spangly card was called for (and balancing the weights!).  I kind of forgot that using different materials to make the elephants would result in lopsidedness.  A quick scout around my craft boxes and a butterfly of exactly the right weight sorted out the squintness

No elephant is complete without ears so I was under strict instruction to find some 'pretty fabric' to cut out 5 pairs then the masterpiece was complete.
