A few weeks ago I joined a couple of other girls, Kat and Claire at Manda McGrory (of Treefall Design fame's) beautiful home. I, and she, have the same love of Orla Kiely designs and if you look on her blog you will see the gorgeous kitchen we all sat in whilst stitching and well, not really, bitching but lots of chatting!! The idea of the course was to come away with a smock top/blouse and trousers for a little one. You could make the items in ages 6 months up to 6 years and we were able to choose from a range of beautiful linen fabrics. I went for a mossy green colour for the top for little Miss Poppy and some natural linen for the trousers.
When Poppy tried it on she asked if I could put a flower on it so it's appliqued with zigzag stitch and adds a colourful touch to the top.
I would thouroughly reccommend the course which is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with sewing knowledge. Lots of chat, a lovely handmade lunch and clothes for your little ones all in one day. They are holding another course on 15th May see here for more details
